Teacher strikes: What is happening at Longshaw?
Members of the NEU teaching union have voted to strike in our area on the following dates:
• Wednesday, February 1 (England and Wales)
• Thursday, 2 March (London, South East and South West regions)
• Wednesday, 15 March (England and Wales)
• Thursday, 16 March (England and Wales)
Our current understanding is that a significant number of colleagues will be taking industrial action and we are thus planning for this accordingly.
Our view, at present, is that we will keep the school open on the proposed strike days for some pupils. We plan to keep school open to both vulnerable pupils and pupils whose parents are critical workers.
If your child requires a critical worker place at school on Wednesday 1st February 2023 and you are unable to organise childcare for the day, please complete the online form no later than 4pm on Friday 27th January latest.
Please note that due to availability of staff, the number of places we can offer for critical workers is limited, therefore we will prioritise those families where either both parents are critical workers or a single parent family is a critical worker, we will then offer remaining places on a first come, first served basis.
Pupil Premium Children:
If your child is in receipt of pupil premium funding and will remain at home on Wednesday 1st February, school will provide you a packed lunch.
If you will require a lunch please complete the following form https://forms.office.com/e/95WwyrV4Sq
