Slide background

Uniform

School Uniform is compulsory for all pupils as it makes children identifiable as attending Longshaw Primary Academy. Wearing a school uniform also provides a sense of belonging and pride in our school.

Whilst we encourage children to wear items of school uniform that have the school logo, parents can also purchase non-logo uniform items such as jumpers, polo tops and cardigans from local highstreet supermarkets in our school uniform colours.

Recycling School Uniform - Impact on the Environment.

We encourage parents wherever possible, to re-use school uniform by passing on to younger siblings in the family; or donating items that are still in good condition.

Whilst the thought of children wearing second hand clothing may not appeal to all parents, it is thought that extending the lifespan of clothes by just three months could result in a 5-10 percent reduction in carbon, water, and waste footprints – giving outgrown uniform a new lease of life would have a big impact on the environment, and parents’ pockets too.

Donations

We are grateful to those parents that have already donated items of school uniform including jumpers, trousers, dresses, cardigans, polo tops, coats and PE kits to school. Through your kindness, we have been able to support families when needed and such donations have always been gratefully received. LAF (Longshaw Academy Friends) hold regular Pre-loved sales where second hand uniform can also be purchased.

If you need assistance in getting your child a school uniform, then please do let us know.
