Change to Admissions Arrangements – September 2024: Consultation

Our Agreed PAN for Reception Intake September 2022 is: 30

The governors of Longshaw Primary Academy have agreed a PAN of 30 pupils for the reception intake and would like to give notice of proposed changes to the Academy’s Admission Policy which will apply from the 2024-25 academic year and thereafter, in line with the agreed consultation.

The policy can be viewed on the link below, or a hard copy is available on request from the school at: lsadmissions@longshawprimaryacademy.org.uk.

The main change in this revised Admissions Policy is that the PAN at Longshaw Primary Academy be reduced from 60 to 30 from September 2024.

Reception Admissions Applications

You must apply for a reception class place for your child even if they attend a school nursery or have an older brother or sister at your preferred school. If your child currently attends a nursery attached to a school this does not give them any priority for a place in reception class at that school.

You can apply through the eAdmissions website. The Starting Primary School 2024 guide (PDF) has all you need to know.

This guide explains how to apply for your child’s school place online (PDF).

If you have any technical issues when applying, please go to eAdmissions support page

If you can’t apply online, you can use the primary common application form (PDF). It has instructions on the back explaining how to submit your printed application.

  • arrangements for selecting the pupils who apply
  • our oversubscription criteria (ie. how places are offered if there are more applicants than places)
  • an explanation of the process you need to follow to apply for a place at Longshaw Primary Academy for your child.

If your child attends a nursery (either attached to a school or independent) a copy of the booklet will be sent home with your child. If your child does not attend nursery or you do not receive a copy, you will be able to download it via the link above or from the Waltham Forest website in September www.walthamforest.gov.uk
