Change to Admissions Arrangements – September 2024: Consultation

Our Agreed PAN for Reception Intake September 2022 is: 30

The governors of Longshaw Primary Academy have agreed a PAN of 30 pupils for the reception intake and would like to give notice of proposed changes to the Academy’s Admission Policy which will apply from the 2024-25 academic year and thereafter, in line with the agreed consultation.

The policy can be viewed on the link below, or a hard copy is available on request from the school at: lsadmissions@longshawprimaryacademy.org.uk.

Reception Admissions

Our PAN for Reception 2025 is 30 pupils.

You must apply for a reception class place for your child even if they attend a school nursery or have an older brother or sister at your preferred school. If your child currently attends a nursery attached to a school this does not give them any priority for a place in reception class at that school.

Applications for Reception places must be completed online through London Borough of Waltham Forest eAdmissions website. This guide explains How to apply for Primary School.

To apply for your your child to join in Reception 2025, you will need to apply from 1 September 2024 until 11.59pm on 15 January 2025. It’s important to apply as soon as you can. Application recieved after this date will be considered as late application.

If you have any technical issues when applying, please go to eAdmissions support page

If you can’t apply online, you can use the primary common application form (PDF). It has instructions on the back explaining how to submit your printed application

Admissions arraments for 2024-25 can be found here, which includes information on:-

  • arrangements for selecting the pupils who apply
  • our oversubscription criteria (ie. how places are offered if there are more applicants than places)
  • an explanation of the process you need to follow to apply for a place at Longshaw Primary Academy for your child.

If your child attends a nursery (either attached to a school or independent) a copy of the booklet will be sent home with your child. If your child does not attend nursery or you do not receive a copy, you will be able to download it via the link above or from the Waltham Forest website in September www.walthamforest.gov.uk
