Reception 2021 Admissions Applications+
If your child was born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 they are due to start in reception class at a primary school in September 2021.
You must apply for a reception class place for your child even if they attend a school nursery or have an older brother or sister at your preferred school. If your child currently attends a nursery attached to a school this does not give them any priority for a place in reception class at that school.
Due to current Covid restrictions, we will be holding virtual Q&A sessions on 1st, 8th and 15th December. If you would like to join us, please contact the school office: email@example.com
The eAdmissions website opens on 1 September 2020. The closing date is 15 January 2021. If you apply after this date, your application will be considered as late.
The booklet Starting Primary School 2021 contains all the information you need to know about applying for a Reception class place, including:
- arrangements for selecting the pupils who apply
- our oversubscription criteria (ie. how places are offered if there are more applicants than places)
- an explanation of the process you need to follow to apply for a place at Longshaw Primary Academy for your child.
National Offer Day is 16 April 2021. This is the day you will receive the results of your reception application, if you apply by the closing date of 15 January 2021
If you apply online by the closing date, an email with the outcome of your application will be sent to you in the evening on 16 April 2021. For paper applications received by the closing date, a letter will be posted to you first class on 16 April 2020.
If your child attends a nursery (either attached to a school or independent) a copy of the booklet will be sent home with your child. If your child does not attend nursery or you do not receive a copy, you will be able to download it via the link above or from the Waltham Forest website in September www.walthamforest.gov.uk
