We regularly seek feedback from our parents and pupils through Parent Questionnaires.

We value what our pupils and parents have to say and use the information to make further improvements to the school.

Here's some of the feedback we've received this year.

Reception Parent

Our daughter is happy going to school and comes back happy too. Her teachers are supportive and kind and she is really enjoying learning to read and write. There’s lots of space and things to do. Before choosing Longshaw we met Mrs Woods and were persuaded by her plans - Longshaw has great potential and is on the way to becoming a thriving community school in the heart of a lively and diverse area.

Year 1 Parent

Longshaw is a friendly school in the heart of a diverse east London community. The ethos of the school is to build the best in everyone; and the school cares deeply about every single child; their families; and the wider community around them. We visited many schools when selecting a school for our daughter, and were struck by the warmth of the staff; and the wonderful exhibits of children’s work as we walked along the corridors. The school is larger than the average primary setting and boasts its own sports field, together with fun activities in the many playgrounds around the school. Choosing a school for our daughter was an incredibly important decision, and we are delighted with everything the school has offered our daughter since she joined.

The last year has been difficult for everybody; and the quality of online learning; but also the pastoral care provided to all children, has really helped children to maintain their learning. The school made every effort to reach out to families and individual children to ensure their diverse learning and other needs were met.

The school is a listening school, and the quality and quantity of communications are outstanding. The school also boasts a great Parents and Teachers Association, Longshaw Academy Friends (LAF), which ensures that everybody is able to have a little bit of fun along the way. Even during this trying pandemic-filled year,  LAF made sure that activities like Christmas remained fun, and makes sure that our year 6 leavers have the farewell they deserve.
